Dr. Sean and his wife, Michelle, have three young daughters: Reghan, Morgan and Caitlin. When he’s not helping patients, Dr. Sean enjoys spending time with his family, competitive swimming, boating and rooting for his hometown Pittsburgh Steelers.

Personal Interests

Dr. Wendy has lived in Florida for five years. In addition to helping patients see better and look better, she has volunteered her time with VOSH International, participating in a Honduras mission to help people who can neither afford nor obtain vision care. In her spare time, she enjoys reading, travel and spending time with friends.

Dr. JACK “JOE” YAGER, O.D., F.A.A.O.

Dr. Jack “Joe” Yager is pleased to be associated with Bay Hill Eyecare and Dr. Sean Coughlin and team.  Dr. Yager specializes in difficult-to-fit contact lens cases, including patients with Keratoconus.  He has been practicing Optometry for over forty years in Central Florida.

In 1976, Dr. Yager was appointed President of a pioneering Central Florida  Optometric practice known as Drs. Bayshore, Swanson, Sowers, Lee, and Yager  O.D., P.A. . Ultimately, this highly acclaimed specialty practice was owned and operated solely by Dr. Yager for several years and was re-branded Yager Eye Institute, prior to its eventual sale in 2014.

Dr. Yager is a Past President (2005/2006) of The American Academy of Optometry and served on the organization’s board from 1992 through 2008.  He earned the prestigious status of Fellow of The American Academy of Optometry in 1977 and in 1978 was Awarded Diplomate status of The Cornea and Contact Section of the organization.  He has served in various positions of responsibility for the Cornea and Contact Section and as Chair of the Section in 1989-1990.   Dr. Yager has also been a member of The American Optometric Association since 1970 and was a charter member of the Contact Lens and Cornea Section of the A.O.A.

During his years in practice, Dr. Yager has worked as a consultant and/or clinical investigator for several optometric/ophthalmologic companies.  He has lectured on the subject of contact lenses throughout the United States and Europe and has trained numerous Optometric Interns from the University of Missouri at St. Louis, University of Alabama at Birmingham and Salus University, originally the Pennsylvania State College of Optometry.

Dr. Yager is the recipient of numerous professional awards including: “Gas Permeable Practitioner of The Year” presented by Contact Lens Manufacturers Association in 2003, “Eminent Service Award” presented by the American Academy of Optometry in 2012, “Legend Award” presented by The Contact Lens and Cornea Section of The American Optometric Association -2014, “Notable Alumnus Award” presented by The Ohio State University-College of Optometry-June 2014.

Dr. Yager is an alumnus of The Ohio State University-College of Optometry, where he graduated with Honors and was President of his Senior Class in 1973.
