Technology

octTomorrow’s technology, today

At Bay Hill Eyecare, we stay up-to-date with the latest technology to provide you with the very best eye care possible. We wouldn’t have it any other way.

3D Optical Coherence Tomographer (OCT-2000)

Our Topcon 3D OCT-2000 provides us with a true 3-D, high-resolution image of your retina. It uses advanced ultrasound to map the layers of your eyes, so we are able to find potential signs of diseases early.

Recent advances in technology have dramatically increased the scanning speed and the amount of data collected while viewing the retina.

You’ll benefit from a faster, more accurate diagnosis of eye diseases such as glaucoma, retinal detachments, macula holes, and age-related macular degeneration.

Optos Optomap Retinal Imaging

Optomap is something of a revolution in eye care. It is a unique retinal screening device which gives us access to the surface at the back of the eye.

optosWith Optomap, we can capture and analyze an image of your retina without dilation, for the early detection and management of eye disease. It all happens in less than one second.

Everyone can benefit from Optomap. The youngest person imaged so far was only 3 weeks old and the oldest was nearly 100 years old. It’s comfortable, quick and easy.

Your digital image will be stored electronically to give us a permanent record of the condition of your retina. This is very important in assisting us to detect and measure changes in your eyes the next time you come in for your routine eye examination.

The images can even be emailed to a Retinal Specialist for a second opinion, if necessary.

This is one of the most significant advances in eye care we have ever seen and are proud to have been the first practice in Central Florida to offer this service to our patients.

We recommend Optomap as part of your regular eye examination, just to be safe.
