3D OCT-1000 Optical Coherence Tomographer

The Topcon 3D OCT-1000 combines the latest Fourier Domain technology with a fundus camera to offer the world's most versatile retinal evaluation tool. This revolutionary product provides you with a true three-dimensional view of the targeted area of the retina, featuring Topcon's TrueMapTM Software. Incorporated in the software is Topcon's Pin-PointTM Registration that provides accurate scan locations for reliable and reproducible results.

Recent advances in OCT technology have dramatically increased the scanning speed and the amount of data collected over Time Domain OCT systems. This new technology commonly known as Fourier Domain OCT or Spectral Domain OCT makes it possible to visualize large areas of the retina, significantly enhancing OCT's diagnostic utility.

This revolutionary product provides high-resolution cross sectional imaging of the retina, thereby aiding in the diagnosis and monitoring of a variety of pathologies, such as retinal detachments, macula holes, agerelated macular degeneration, and glaucoma. It features a true three-dimensional view of the mapped area and accurate Pin-PointTM retinal registration of the OCT image and the fundus image.

Optomap Retinal Imaging

Optomap is something of a revolution in eye care. It is a unique retinal screening service which gives us access to areas of the retina, (the surface at the back of the eye) which due to the limits of earlier technology were previously difficult to reach. Many eye diseases, such as glaucoma, diabetic retinopathy, or retinal tears and detachments, if detected at an early stage, can be treated successfully without total loss of vision. Now with the Optomap retinal examination, we can offer this screening service as part of your standard eyesight examination.

Obtaining Optomap retinal images is comfortable, quick and very simple. By looking into an eyepiece, the digital image of the retina is captured in less than a second, with a small flash indicating the image has been taken. Nothing touches your eye during the process. Your Optomap retinal image is then immediately displayed for us to review with you.

Your digital Optomap image will be stored electronically giving us a permanent record of the condition of your retina. This is very important in assisting us to detect and measure changes in your eyes next time you attend for a routine eye examination. The images can even be emailed to a Retinal Specialist for a second opinion.

Everyone can benefit from an Optomap examination, the youngest person imaged so far is only 3 weeks old and the oldest nearly 100 years old. Therefore, we are recommending that everyone has an Optomap examination every time they attend for a routine eye examination.

This is one of the most significant advances in eye care we have ever seen and are proud to have been the first practice in Central Florida to offer this service to our patients.
